Emergency Management

Our Mission is to provide a comprehensive and integrated emergency management system that coordinates community resources to protect lives, property and the environment through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery from all natural and man-made hazards that may impact our county.

What is Emergency Management?

Emergency Management is helping our community prepare for and recover from disasters, along with establishing relationships with state and local organizations. We provide training and resources for our local first responders to make their jobs easier.

Roles of an Emergency Manager

An Emergency Manager is responsible for the day-to day preparation of disasters. When a disaster occurs, every responder has a specific job. Our job to find a solution. Along with the list of responsibilities below, we find resources for the responders and make sure they have everything they need to get their job done.

  • Public Outreach
  • Training/Conducting Exercises
  • Developing Plans
  • Communication/developing relationships
  • Monitoring weather
  • Assist with public info
  • Request resources
  • Work with special events
  • Incident Recovery
  • Manage volunteers
  • We are not in charge of the scene

As a smaller community it may be harder to find the resources that are needed. No matter what, our responders will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
